The technology of contactless fare payment, and the ability to pay for the trip using a smartphone will operate on the Moscow Central diameters (IDC). On Wednesday TASS said the Deputy mayor of Moscow Maxim Liksutov.
“On the platforms of the IDC will be available to the contactless fare collection, as on the turnstiles in the subway. To pay the fare on the Moscow Central diameters can be contactless Bank cards PayPass/PayWave, as well as smartphones and other gadgets with the technology Samsung Pay Apple Pay and Android Pay” — said the Agency interlocutor.
In addition, to pay the fare at the IDC will be the card “Troika” that acts on all types of urban transport. The map is also available in the form of charms, bracelets, rings and stickers.
“Due to the fact that our passenger chooses the most convenient form of payment, we solve several problems at once — reduce the number of defaulters in public transport and increase its demand. In addition, because of the introduction of the IDC’s latest payment systems we not only improve the comfort of passenger movement, but also create a convenient integration between all kinds of public transport trips which you can pay and the card “Troika”, and a mobile phone and a Bank card”, — said Liksutov.
It is planned to launch five diameters, WDC-1 “Odintsovo-Lobnya” and the IDC-2 “Nahabino-Podolsk” will start in late 2019 — early 2020. IDC will work on a schedule, metro from 05:30 to 01:00 GMT. For the integration of diameters with many of the city’s transportation system will be designed user-friendly ticketing system. According to experts, the implementation of the project the IDC will unload the entire transport infrastructure of the capital of 10-12%.
