You will listen to the Russian authorities to Apple?
Apple has sent negative feedback about the bill requiring foreign companies to install the Russian software on their devices. Apple hope that the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) will continue the discussions about the bill.
In early February, the FAS has formed a final version of the draft law on mandatory Russian preset on the device foreign companies. The specialists of the FAS stopped in the most rigid version of the amendments. Only after completing the requirements of the law, foreign companies can sell their devices in Russia. This means that if, for example, Apple will refuse to install the Russian application on the iPhone, the company officially banned from selling smartphones in the country.
Apple was concerned about the decision of the FAS. Apple has sent the Agency a negative opinion about the bill and said he will hope for further negotiations and discussions on the document.
Concern about Apple is quite clear. iOS and macOS are closed operating systems that are not pre-installed any third party apps. For the upcoming Russian law, want to force Apple to pre-install on all iPhone, iPad and Mac various applications of Russian companies, for example, “Yandex”.
At this moment, the representatives of the FAS has not commented on the statement by Apple.
