Eco-friendly buildings of the new MacBook Air and Mac mini is not only used aluminum. For example, the bottom cover walls in the new Mac mini is made from 60% recycled plastic, while its fan contains 27% plastics based on biomass produced from renewable sources.
Fan and speakers in the new MacBook Air contain 35% and 45% recycled plastic respectively. “Butterfly” new keyboard “air” also contains 34% bio-plastic, and soldering on the motherboard from 100% recycled tin.
Apple claims the new Mac mini produces 45% less emissions compared to the previous generation model. While the new MacBook Air generates 47% less emissions than the last model.
The company also claims that the new packaging of MacBook Air uses 87% less plastic than the packaging of the previous generation. The ultimate goal of Apple is the use of only recycled or renewable materials in their products.
