It is expected that this will help Apple to expand Siri features, and better compete with Alexa (voice assistant Amazon) and Google Assistant.

Pullstring was founded in 2011 by former executives of Pixar and created the first interactive voice application for toys (e.g., Barbie, Hello in 2015). Later the company started IoT products and started to develop applications for the Alexa and Google Assistant.

In total, the company raised approximately $44 million from the funds of the CRV, Greylock, True Ventures, Khosla Ventures and First Round Capital.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, however, as Business Insider reports, after bringing the latest startup funding was estimated at $163,57 million
