The American company Apple is preparing to completely abandon iTunes, reports Bloomberg.
The program, according to the Agency, will replace the separate applications for music, television and podcasts with the release of macOS 10.15.
“Will be launched three new apps for Mac: Music, TV and Podcasts to replace iTunes. This corresponds to the strategy of media applications on Apple iPhone and iPad. Without iTunes customers can manage their Apple gadgets via the Music app,” writes Bloomberg.
It is expected that CEO Tim cook will announce the change at the developer conference WWDC 2019, which starts on 3 June.
Player iTunes first appeared in 2001. With its help, Mac users listened to music and podcasts, watching movies and TV shows. In addition, it was used to sync information on Apple devices.
Previously, Apple after a four year break, introduced on Tuesday a new portable media player seventh generation iPod touch, which has kept the design of previous models, greatly improving their performance.
In a press release, which is available on the website of the company, it is noted that the iPod touch now uses the A10 Fusion chip (developed by Apple processor, first seen in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in 2016), which provides better performance. In addition, the new player has the opportunity to make group calls using FaceTime.
The novelty has not received any Touch ID or Face ID, retaining the design of the previous model and a mechanical Home button.
