A number of old smartphones, including the iPhone 5s, will no longer receive system updates. This is stated on the website of the company.
In the new version of the system will appear dark theme, with the inclusion where all standard programs will be painted black. Also, the developers have increased the speed of loading applications in twice, and the space occupied by system updates and third-party applications, has reduced by 50-60 percent. It is noted that the Face ID will work 30 percent faster.
The update will be released in the fall of 2019 and will be available for the iPhone, ranging from the SE and 6s, and iPad, including Air 2 and Mini 4. Thus 5s and older devices will no longer receive updates.
iPhone 5s was released in 2013 and became the first Apple smartphone with 64-bit processor. The updates to the smartphone came even four years after release, although Apple usually stops supporting such devices. The latest version of the system available on the iPhone 5s at the moment — iOS 12.2.
