Retailer M. Video-Eldorado summed up the results of the Russian market of laptops for 2018. According to analysts, it showed the highest growth dynamics over the last few years.
Laptop sales increased by 9% in units and 21% in monetary terms to 2.8 million units and 97 billion rubles, which is the highest growth since 2012.
According to analysts, high interest of Russian buyers for laptops in 2018 linked to pent-up demand and shift the attention of buyers in a more powerful traditional laptops, ultrabooks and gaming models. As a result, the market showed double-digit growth in money and the increase in the average price of 12% to 34 500 rubles.
Models from 10.3 to 15 inch bought in pieces one-third more often. The combined share of mobile computers with these diagonals reached 20% in pieces and quarters of the market in money. However, about 70% have the device 15-15,7″. The demand for large diagonal continues to decline.
Among the price segments recorded positive dynamics only models cost from 40 thousand rubles. Grew by more than 50%, and the share of the upper price ranges is close to half the market.
Among the five most popular brands for the year was Lenovo, Acer, HP, Asus and Apple. Cumulative sales of brands reached 87% in units and 88% in the money. Lenovo retained the lead in units, and Asus — in-the-money. Apple for the first time in pieces among the five, relegating Dell. The demand for laptops has increased more than twice due to the demand for new items. Best-selling laptops of the year was model 2017 — MacBook Air 13 (MQD32), Lenovo IdeaPad 320-15ISK and MacBook Pro (MPXR2/MPXQ2).
