Apple introduced an annual transparency report, which shows data on cooperation with the authorities of different countries in the first six months of 2018. The document was published on the official website of the Corporation.
Experts have told that after six months, Apple received 32 thousands of requests from governments. The company responded to 80% of cases and has granted access to 164 thousand devices.
From January to June this year, the largest number of requests (15 thousand, and almost half of the total number) received from the government of Germany.
The U.S. government has sent Apple in to four thousand requests for information disclosure 14. The company noted that this is due to fraud with gift cards for iTunes.
The company granted 87% of the requests from the Russian authorities, which in total was 710. Authorities have asked Apple to share data 917 2 users, three times — information about finances and credit cards and three times the data Apple ID and email.
In the past half year Apple received 23 477 requests. The company then granted 79 per cent of them.
