Apple has hired one of the leading engineers ARM Mike Filippo. He worked on the processors for mobile devices and servers.
Mike has long been a valuable member of the community ARM. We appreciate all his efforts and wish him all the best in his next endeavors, — said Bloomberg, the former employer Filippo.
Presumably, the engineer should help Apple with the Mac processors based on ARM, and also fill the gap left after the departure of Gerard Williams III, the former lead designer of custom chips for the iPhone and iPad, starting with A7 and ending A12X.
Previously, Apple has confirmed the purchase of the startup on the development of unmanned vehicles Drive.ai. The transaction value was not disclosed.
