Apple is interested in Sony sensors for 3D cameras. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to Yoshihara Satoshi (Satoshi Yoshihara) the head of the relevant division of Sony.

These chips use a technology called ToF (Time of Flight), which determines the range of objects and is responsible for augmented reality capabilities.

According to Satoshi Yoshihara of such sensors are interested several manufacturers of smartphones, so the company had to expand their production.

It fits in appeared in November, the rumors that Apple is in 2019 might be the iPhone back-facing cameras TrueDepth to work with augmented and virtual reality.
