On the website Change.org there was a petition in which Apple need to solve the problem with trains in some current laptops.

As reported, on laptops from Cupertino will eventually wear out the ribbon cable that connects the laptop screen to the motherboard. Because of this, first there is the so-called effect of “theatrical lighting”. In some cases, the backlight may stop working or will turn off if you open the lid at a certain angle.

This problem is on all laptops, but in the case of the MacBook Pro, according to statistics, this happens a year and a half after purchase, whereas with other models it will take years or even decades.

Defect called Flexgate, under the name of Flex cable flex cable. It is on these models:

MacBook Pro 13 inch, 2016 (with two Thunderbolt 3);

MacBook Pro 13 inch 2017 (with two Thunderbolt 3);

MacBook Pro 13 inch 2016 (with four Thunderbolt 3);

MacBook Pro 13 inch 2017 (includes four Thunderbolt 3);

MacBook Pro 13 inch 2018 (includes four Thunderbolt 3);

MacBook Pro 15 inch 2016;

MacBook Pro 15 inch 2017;

MacBook Pro 15 inch 2018.

Unfortunately, Apple currently does not recognize this problem as a manufacturing defect. And repair of the unit is more than 600 dollars.
