Apple recently filed in the Bureau of patents and trademarks USA a new application, which describes a smart watch with support for fifth generation networks. In addition to the updated 5G Apple Watch also needs to be able to work with Wi-Fi 802.11 ad.
To implement such ideas Apple engineers propose to place an antenna to receive signals in the side walls or screen of the gadget. This will direct the radio up, not in the wrist of the user, so data transfer speed will be faster.
Unlike most of Apple’s patents, the new application looks quite realistic. Given the interest of Apple to the networks of the fifth generation, in the future cupertinos really can release with Apple Watch support 5G. However, this does not happen soon. According to analysts, support 5G networks will begin to appear in Apple devices until next year.
