One of the main drawbacks of the latest Apple notebooks is the mechanism of the keyboard “butterfly”. MacBook users regularly encounter the damage caused by dust under the keys. And although the design was revised in the latest generation MacBook Pro, it did not solve the problem completely. In this regard, Apple is planning to replace the “butterfly” more reliable.

The portal MacRumors citing analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the company will introduce a new type of keyboard in a 16-inch MacBook. His announcement is expected in September.

A new mechanism for the keyboard will be called “scissors” (Scissor). According to the route map, it will completely replace the “butterfly” in the next year.

The “butterfly” was introduced in 2015 along with MacBook 12 and was almost immediately criticized by users for fragility. Apple even launched a special warranty program, according to which any owner of a MacBook could count on a free repair of the keyboard.
