Recently it became known that Apple is suspending work on a streaming TV service. Although the company officially does not name the reasons, many point out that recently a similar decision was taken in the Amazon — it’s expensive, not profitable and a surplus of competitors.
But this does not mean that Apple abandoned the idea to launch its own streaming service. Recently, several Hollywood celebrities have received from the company an order for production of 20 exclusive shows. The contracts were signed, among others, Oprah Winfrey, a non-profit educational project Sesame, lane Eskridge, Zach van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht.
It is logical to assume that Apple intend to use the exclusive content for its own streaming platform. There is little detail, and it’s not an exact forecast but to launch the service before the end of the year.
It should be understood that with this product Apple is in fierce competition, where Netflix, Amazon and Hulu compete as major players, and smaller services such as Curiosity increasing Stream audience. If Apple will make it from the start until 2019, it will face another strong competitor — Disney also runs the streaming service.
What is the strategy Apple is still not clear. Coming new TV shows to the Apple Music package or will be an exclusive content streaming service separate? Only time will tell.
