Apple is hiring in Europe for the iPhone launch

April 4, 2007 on 9:50 pm | In iPhones, News | 3 Comments

Apple Thanks to the french blog Le Blog iPhone, Apple is recruiting in Cork (Ireland) for the launch of the iPhone in Europe. The job ad was posted on the 26 of March, so we can guess that this role will be fit by the end of June. From my point of view, it probably means the iPhone could arrive in Europe in September-October.

EMI Records According to an announcement from Apple and EMI Records in London today, iTunes will contain soon some high quality DRM-Free music from EMI at a basic price of $1.29.

I’m happy to hear that, Apple is making the music industry going to the next step. People wants DRM-Free music so everyone could listen to their music on every device they want.

I’m quite sure that other music majors will have to announce something soon about it…

Yahoo Mail - Unlimited Storage

March 28, 2007 on 9:32 pm | In News | 2 Comments

Yahoo Mail will be the official mail provider for the iPhone, see the Press Release of Apple. Yahoo revealed yesterday that in May 2007, the Mail storage would be unlimited. So, is it for the iPhone or is it related to the free opening of Google Mail few weeks ago and the 2,8 GB of mail storage? My guess is that it is related to the Google fight, and Yahoo want to keep its domination in Webmail with this announcement.

Finally Apple and Cisco have resolved their dispute regarding the “iphone” trademark owned by Cisco. It is a very good information for Apple as they can now freely use the iphone name and sell the mobile phone in the US. Cisco and Apple will also collaborate in security, and consumer and enterprise communications. It seems that there is a financial agreement, because “Other terms of the agreement are confidential”.
