Analytical company Canalys, told about the sales of smartphones in Europe in 2018. Over the past year it sold 4 percent fewer smartphones than previous year’s 197 million units.
In the fourth quarter sales fell 2% to 57 million, but the Chinese producers were able on this background to increase sales. Leader 2018 remains of the Korean Samsung, but its sales fell by more than 10% to 61.6 million devices. Apple in second place fell 6% to 42.8 million
Huawei managed to increase its shipments by 54%, close to Apple’s closely — 42.5 million smartphones. Relative newcomers Xiaomi and Finnish HMD Global also showed an increase, they are sitting in fourth and fifth place.
At year-end, Chinese manufacturers took 32% of the European market, increasing their sales by 27%, despite the decline in the overall market.
