Expert in information security Patrick Wardle expressed the opinion that Apple deliberately does not provide developers with information about malicious apps on macOS. Thus, cupertinos deliberately prevent the spread of anti-virus software among Mac owners.
To such conclusion the expert came after analyzed using the anti-virus scanners spyware components from the group Windshift that attacked users of Apple computers. From a whole list of threats anti-virus application was able to find only one component.
According to Wardle, now Apple goes against standard industry practice, when the developers of the operating system actively share with the creators of anti-virus programs information about the found vulnerabilities and threat. The expert is confident that this policy is harmful primarily to ordinary users and increases the risk of infection.
Something Patrick Words really right. Despite all the efforts and statements by Apple from time to time, attackers can find vulnerabilities in macOS that can lead to leak of user data.
