The Federal Antimonopoly service has asked the mobile operators with the initiative to abolish intra-network roaming in 2016. After almost two years of the communication company fulfilled the requirements of the Department.
Representatives of the FAS believe that the cellular company is not reasonably inflated prices for communication services when people move within the country. Therefore, the beginning of autumn 2018, the Supervisory authority will develop a package of penalties against the leading mobile operators. The size of payments will be set closer to 1 September 2018.
In early August 2018 all companies “the big three” — MTS, Beeline and MegaFon — announced that it was ceasing to charge for incoming calls outside of the region of connection of users.
Before any innovations will be available to subscribers of “Beeline”. “Vympelcom” will cancel the roaming on-net, starting August 20. Ten days later, the new pricing system and will work for most customers of MTS and “MegaFon”.
FAS regards it as a victory over in-network roaming. But, nevertheless, does not intend to cancel the foreclosure and forgive mobile operators delaying their demands.
