British auction house Christie’s put up for sale an extremely rare Apple 1 computer. Auction must pass on may 16.
Price of the lot is expected from 378 to 650 thousand dollars. Apple 1 computer fully working motherboard with the serial number 01-0053 is enclosed in the lower compartment of the briefcase, hidden homemade aluminum control panel with Datanetics keyboard.
The Apple 1 is the first computer of Apple Computer. It is considered to be one of the first if not the first personal computer sold fully assembled. It was released in 1976 and its price was 666,66 dollar, big money. A couple of years have been collected and sold about 200 of these computers.
