Ex-student from China enrolled in the College of Oregon, who pled guilty to fraud with fake iPhones, was sentenced to three years and one month imprisonment.
Recall, 30-year-old Chuan Jiang (Jiang Quan) imported fake iPhones from China, and then exchanged them for the legal devices by Apple’s warranty. Original merchandise was resold in China. The Scam lasted more than two years — from January 2016 to February 2018. Apple replaced 1493 smartphones, and suffered losses of $1.2 million.
