The largest American Internet companies blocked the action of the root certificate that was used by the authorities of Kazakhstan to intercept traffic inside the country. Google and Mozilla issued a joint statement, notifying about blocking of the certificate in Chrome and Firefox, and later similar steps were taken in the Apple regarding Safari.
Suspicious certificate has come to the attention of the media August 7, when Reuters published an article about cyberclic organized by the government of Kazakhstan. However, for the first time this certificate began in 2015 when he tried to add to the trusted store of Mozilla. But there attempt was blocked, and since the government failed to officially enter this certificate in any browser.
The wrath of the IT giants has caused reports of forced users is to manually install the certificate.
