Compared to iOS 12.0.1.
Last week, Apple released final version iOS 12.1. The first major upgrade for iOS 12 has brought an option of group calls to FaceTime, support for “Depth” on the iPhone XS, Max XS iPhone and iPhone XR, and fixes a variety of previously detected errors. Earlier we wrote that the speed of iOS 12.1 compared to iOS 12.0.1 has not changed. But what about the battery life?
The changes are minimal
Comparison of battery life iOS iOS 12.1 and 12.0.1 on various iPhone models showed that the difference between the firmwares are almost there. In testing in the benchmark Geekbench 4, all smartphones, Apple has been a little longer running iOS 12.1, but the difference with iOS 12.0.1 insignificant.
So, iPhone 5s with iOS 12.1 worked for 3 minutes longer than on iOS 12.0.1 and the iPhone 6 2 minutes longer than on the old firmware. The largest difference is seen on the iPhone 7, which lasted running iOS 12.1 for 6 minutes more. On iPhone 8 altogether there was a reduction in battery life, however, is small — for 2 minutes.
Thus, the test showed that the difference in battery life between iOS and iOS 12.1 12.0.1 do not. The results of the first tests of the new firmware been saying the same thing, and now they are confirmed by a larger scale comparison.
