In beta versions of operating systems for different devices Apple has introduced the option to log in to iCloud using Face ID or Touch ID. This should improve the level of privacy and security of users.

To put finger on the scanner or to send the front camera on the face is certainly easier than entering the password on the account. To verify this, you need to install the beta version of iOS 13, iPadOS or macOS Catalina. You then need to click on the link beta.icloud.com in the Safari browser. There will be a pop-up asking whether you want to try a new method of authorization. However, they say that at the usual address icloud.com it also should work.

It is unknown whether there will be this option in the final versions of the systems.
