Almost immediately after the announcement of the new generation of Google Pixel, it became known that the company deprived the owners of their own innovations very important service — the ability to store an unlimited number of photos taken on smartphones, straight to the Google cloud. But perhaps the most offensive, such a possibility now is the iPhone.
But to be honest, it’s not as simple as it might seem at first glance. The owners of smartphones from Apple and really have the opportunity to upload your photos in original quality to the Google cloud without any restrictions. But this is not due to some partnership between the two companies, everything is much easier. The fact that the iPhone and iPad take pictures in the format of HEIC, which in turn has a better compression than conventional JPEG. And in this regard, Google Photos, which stores photos in the cloud does not compress the source material with the iPhone, as in this case, the pictures would take up even more space, which is contrary to the logic of the service. The result is that the owners of smartphones and tablets from Apple store your photos in the cloud as in the original.
