Analytical company Gartner has published the results of a study on computer market for the fourth quarter and the year 2018 as a whole. Global shipments of PCs in 2018 amounted to 259,4 million, which is 1.3% less than the results of 2017. Thus, the sale of computers around the world are falling for the seventh consecutive year.
First place went to the Chinese company Lenovo, relegating last year’s market leader — HP. The share of Lenovo has 58,46 million computers, which is 22.5% of global PC sales. Then comes HP 56,33 million and 21.7%, in third place is Dell with 41,91 million and 16.2%, and closed the top five Apple 18,01 million and 6.9%, Acer from 15.72 million and 6.1%, ASUS from 15.53 million or 6%.
Analysts said weak sales in the consumer segment. So, in 2018, the consumer market was only 40%, while in 2014 it reached 48%.
