Within 2019 WWDC Apple introduced a new desktop operating system called macOS 10.15 Catalina. In the update cupertinos have added some exciting new features, an alternative to iTunes and many other innovations.
10.15 in macOS, Apple decided to abandon the already outdated iTunes application. Cupertinos replaced it with three new tools that should simplify access to music, movies, and podcasts. As for synchronization with mobile devices, macOS 10.15 these functions were transferred to the Finder.
Another interesting feature of the new Apple desktop operating system was a feature called Sidecar. It allows owners of Mac computers and iPad tablets to use these devices at the same time. Simply put, the cupertinos have created a mechanism that will allow you to use the iPad as an additional display or a graphic tablet. It is worth noting that something like this has long been implemented by third-party developers, but now this option is in the system by default.
One of the most interesting features of macOS 10.15 Catalina is the new tool for developers called Catalyst. With it, the latter will be able to transfer iPad apps on macOS in just a few clicks. During the presentation Apple said only three such programs — Jira Cloud, Twitter, and Asphalt 9. However, we can assume that the fall of this year, the Mac App Store will be complemented by hundreds of new applications.
In addition, the cupertinos have modified a standard application, focused on the security added to the system Find utility to search for My stolen Mac and implemented in macOS, a number of technologies for people with disabilities.
Install macOS 10.15 will be on:
- Mac mini late 2012 or newer iMac 2012 or newer MacBook 2015 and newer, MacBook Air 2012 or newer MacBook Pro 2012 or newer, 2013 Mac Pro or newer, iMac Pro 2017 and later.
