DUBAI, Aug 29 — PRIME. Emirati airline Etihad Airways banned carry in the baggage compartment on its flight Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch, which was withdrawn by the manufacturer because of security reasons, reports Khaleej Times.
We are talking about devices that were sold between September 2015 and February 2017. As noted by Apple, from a limited number of this MacBook series battery pack can overheat and pose a fire hazard.
“Our passengers can take MacBook Pro into the cabin. They must remain turned off during flight due to the fact that were recalled by the manufacturer. Charging of these devices is also prohibited during the flight,” the airline said.
Such a ban on some models of the MacBook had previously introduced other airlines: Qantas Airways, Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways.
