MOSCOW, March 15. /TASS/. A music firm “Melody” has released a recording of piano concertos of the twentieth century, performed by pianist Sergei Dorensky, said on Friday the press-service of the company.
The album includes works of American composer Samuel Barber, “Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini,” Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody in style a Blues” by George Gershwin. Recording available on CD claims, while the digital edition will be available in iTunes, Apple’s Music and other venues.
People’s artist of Russia Denis Matsuev, whose words are reported, noted that looking forward to the plate, as currently the art Dorensky is forgotten in the contemporary recording industry — the pianist finished playing on the big stage for quite a long time, making the choice in favor of teaching. “I know the record Dorensky “Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini” by Rachmaninov and “the Rhapsody in style a Blues” Gershwin, I practically studied. But the concert of Samuel Barber for me is an absolute discovery”, — said Matsuev.
According to the honored artist of Russia Ekaterina Mechetina, which quoted the press service, the disk is of great interest to music lovers, because of the identity Dorensky — not only a piano virtuoso and heir to the considerable traditions of the Russian piano school, but the teacher who created a powerful branch of the Russian pianism, has an extraordinary magnetism and charm.
