FAS has discharged the operators of solid fines.
The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) has ordered cellular operators of MTS, “MegaFon” and “Beeline” to pay fines for the introduction of intranet roaming. Each operator will have to pay for 737 500 rubles as a fine. The FAC noted that all the operators have voluntarily eliminated the violations, they will not be assigned additional punishment.
The representatives of FAS said that the cost of each operator when traveling in Russia was “unreasonably high”. The Agency has been required from operators to eliminate intra-network roaming and artificially inflated prices, but none of the operators had not complied with the requirements of the FAS in full.
FAS was able to achieve the desired from the operators of the result only after having a full of cases against each of them. With a delay of more than a year, operators were still able to eliminate intra-network roaming by the beginning of September 2018.
Despite this, operators will have to pay substantial fines. Each operator will have to pay 737 500 rubles for 60 days as a penalty, as described in the official statement of the FAS.
