As reported RIA Novosti, 7 August 2018 at the satellite town of Kazan Innopolis was installed the first terminal, in which users can register the sim card yourself. This requires only a passport.
According to representatives of MTS until the end of 2018, similar stations will appear in other cities of Russia. The company plans to place terminals in shopping centers, railway stations, airports, hotels, and other popular public places.
To connect the sim card MTS using terminal can any adult citizen of Russia. To do this go to the terminal with your passport, scan the page with personal data and confirm that the machine correctly recognizes the information. Then the machine will make a photo, compare it with the photo in the passport, and if everything is in order, will issue a sim card.
MTS already has experience in the automatic issuance of sim cards. Terminals of the first generation allow to the subscriber to make additional room. Such machines can be found in Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as in the far East. Starting in 2016, MTS has installed 30 of these terminals.
The apparatus of 2018 will probably help the cellular operator to attract new customers.
The other “big four” is also actively developing the automation of the process of connecting subscribers. Tele2 has installed these terminals at the beginning of June 2018, and “Beeline” and “MegaFon” is considering plans for the introduction of private stations.
