Organizers of the international exhibition of mobile electronics Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, which was held in Barcelona from 25 to 28 February, announced the winner of the award “Best smartphone of the year”. According to the jury, it was Huawei Mate 20 Pro (read our review at this link).
Camera Huawei deserve to win: he was the first among Android smartphones got a 3D scan of the face, has a built-in screen fingerprint sensor, high-quality OLED display, capacious battery 4200 mAh and one of the best in the market processor — 7-HiSilicon Kirin 980 nm.
To win in this category also claimed Apple iPhone XS Max, Google Pixel 3, 6T OnePlus and Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Best at MWC last year was recognized as iPhone X, although Apple’s participation in the exhibition does not accept.
In the category “Best put mobile technology” has won the smart watch Galaxy Watch (our review). Samsung successfully rebooted the line: the successor series Gear waterproof, with a super AMOLED screen, supports LTE network and wireless charging. Due to this peak period of holiday sales, according to Strategy Analytics, at the end of 2018 Samsung has shipped four times more devices than a year ago.
The title of “Revolutionary innovation in the mobile device” went to the Night Sight feature, which greatly improves the quality of shooting in low light, sticking together multiple photos into one. For the first time this feature became available on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
The winners were announced by the GSM Association (GSMA), representing the interests of the global industry of mobile communications. The Alliance unites more than 750 mobile operators and companies.
