Apple has released an update of iOS for iPhone 13.1. Among other things, it activates the chip U1 for ultra-wideband connections in the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. However, it activated all the time.

The chip U1 has been switched off in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, as well as a number of regions. U1 allows you to quickly find nearby devices to transfer data via AirDrop. With the release of the update, the Russian disappointment users have found the new search interface.

On the Apple website in the list of regions that support this feature Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan are not yet available. Apple describes the feature: “If you want someone to share a file via AirDrop, just point your iPhone to this device, and it will be the first in the list”.
