Roaming in Russia has a long-standing problem that really started to struggle recently. Interfax reported that the Duma recently adopted a law on its cancellation in the first reading.
The first such offer deputies “Fair Russia” made in 2017. At the same time this problem started the most actively discussed, and the Federal anti-monopoly service has filed lawsuits against the “big three” – Beeline, MegaFon and MTS.
Now all operators have to obey and abandon extra money on the Russians. For a start all parties should equalize the cost of calls later and the Internet.
According to the explanation of the new law, roaming has become archaic, which only hinders the development of communications in Russia. In every city now, most operators have their own telecommunications towers, so roaming is not necessary.
This is also the opinion of the Federal Antimonopoly service, which has declared the fight against roaming charges back in the summer of 2017. Therefore, the changes should come into force very soon. In extreme cases operators are waiting for litigation and trial, which is unlikely to lead to the abolition of the law.
