Russia may initiate discussions with European countries on the issue of the “digital tax”. In particular, how to make it global. About it in interview to “Russia-24” told the head of the Ministry Maxim Oreshkin.
“There are topics on which we work together. These include the French initiative related to the new tax system for big IT companies — Google, Facebook, Amazon, Apple. They’re this group called the GAFA. Now expect it to introduce a new tax, we will discuss how to make this subject to global,” said Oreshkin.
In Russia, there are the so-called Google tax — the VAT that foreign companies pay to sell on the Internet games, music, books, and so on.
From 1 January 2019 such companies became obliged to register at the Federal tax service (FNS) and to pay VAT from the services they render to the Russian business. Earlier for they have done to customers.
