NALCHIK, November 29. /TASS/. The Kremlin has not yet received a letter from the Association of trading companies and manufacturers of consumer electronic and computer equipment (RATEK) with a request to reject the law on the preset on smartphones, computers and TVs with Smart TV with apps, oriented on the Russian audience. This was announced on Friday, the TASS press-Secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov.
“The only letter sent today,” — said he, answering the relevant question.
In the letter, a copy of which is at the disposal of TASS, it is argued that the application of the law “a negative impact on the industry, will worsen the competitive situation in the sphere of Russian software will lead to its monopolization of the”. The Association also said that the law is contrary to a number of international regulatory documents. “In practical terms, the entry into force of the law fraught with increasing disintegration processes within the EEU (Eurasian economic Union — approx. TASS), the decline in business activity on the market of household electronics and software”, — the statement says.
In this regard, the Association appealed to Putin with a request to dismiss submitted to him for signing the law.
The Federation Council approved this document on November 25. The law requires that the sale of certain types of technically difficult goods the consumer should be provided the opportunity to use these products to pre-established Russian programs.
In RATEK, founded in 2000, includes about 50 companies, including retailers, representative offices of foreign manufacturers such as Intel, Apple, Samsung and other Internet companies (including “Yandex” and Google).
