Large-scale multimedia social media project RT #Romanovs100 dedicated to the centenary of the execution of the Royal family, reached the final of the Webby Awards — the prestigious international award, which celebrates the most outstanding achievements in the digital sphere.
#Romanovs100 claims victory in the category “Best photography and graphics.” Project RT will also fight for People’s Voice Award, given at the voting Webby Awards. Voting is open on the website until April 18. Rivals RT have been the work of such major brands as National Geographic, Apple and Nike.
Project #Romanovs100, launched in cooperation with the State archive of Russia, was implemented on four social media platforms — YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. For 100 days in its accounts published rare photographs from the archives of the Romanovs. Today it is the most comprehensive photographic collection of the Royal family. In 2018, the project has been awarded a series of awards, The Drum Awards and the Clio Entertainment, and in 2019 — the prize for promotional, marketing and design Promax Europe Awards. In addition, the project is nominated in New York Festivals in six categories.
Previously, RT has twice won the Webby Awards for audience voting. In 2018, the prize was won by the project of the TV channel RT #1917LIVE, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the revolution in Russia and recreating in the social network Twitter events of those days “in real time”. In 2016, won the group digital projects RT accounts of TV channel on platforms Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Soundlcoud and Coub and page Play RT, offering users information and entertaining videos.
Webby Awards, “the most honorable award in the field of the Internet,” according to the New York Times, an annual celebration of the world’s best digital projects: websites, videos, mobile applications and campaigns in social networks. The jury award included more than a thousand web professionals and media market. The winners will be announced April 23.
