The Russian government is discussing the failure of conventional paper work books and the transfer of Russians to the electronic counterparts. Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov supported the proposed innovation at the special meeting, which focused on the amendments to the labour code. The transition to electronic employment record books could occur in 2020.
The idea of the transition from paper work to e-books appeared a long time ago. A few months ago it was praised by the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev. According to him, the electronic employment record will facilitate the data transfer to the Pension Fund and in General will reduce costs everywhere.
Now possible to switch on the electronic employment record is being actively discussed in government. Held on the days of the meeting it became clear that translation into a new type of employment record books will be required. This means that all the new work book will be issued in electronic form. However, the employee can obtain a paper version upon request.
In addition, the authorities do not plan to transfer force. All existing Russians paper employment records will remain in full use and will not be abolished.
