The new range of Samsung S10, based on single-chip system Exynos 9820, was tested for performance by experts GSM Arena. The results of tests conducted in various benchmarks were compared with the results of other flagship gadgets, including the new Xiaomi Mi 9 and iPhone Xs Max.

OCTA core Exynos 9820 includes two large core Mongoose M4 with a clock frequency of 2.7 GHz, two Cortex-A75 clock frequency of 2.4 GHz, and four energy saving Cortex-A55, operating at a frequency of 1.9 GHz. Graphics processor Exynos 9820 — chip Mali-G76 MP12, which, according to the manufacturer, will provide additional optimization of the Unreal Engine for smoother gameplay.

It is also worth noting that the Exynos 9820 performed for 8-nanometer process technology, not for 7-nanometer Snapdragon as 855, and any differences between the two systems associated with different architectures of their elements, not with obvious technological advantages.

As seen in the graphs, the performance of Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+ on the basis of Exynos 9820 in multi-core test is about the same as the smartphone based on Snapdragon 855. But as for performance on one core, then a huge Mongoose M4 core with a clock frequency of 2.7 GHz just blew rival Qualcomm. The results of the core tests are impressive, leaving behind flagship Snapdragon gadgets at 855. Just ahead of the iPhone Xs is Max on Apple A12 Bionic. GPU performance is not inferior to the best in its class, but in some tests it is inferior to Adreno 640 established in Snapdragon 855.
