The owner of TikTok company Beijing ByteDance Technology Co Ltd is negotiating with major music labels to global licensing agreements for the inclusion of songs based on a new subscription service to music. This is reported by the Financial Times, citing sources. According to the international business newspaper, ByteDance already met with representatives of Universal Music, Sony Music and Warner Music. It is assumed that the music app will pop up a library of short video clips — viewing them, you will find new tracks. Also the Financial Times write that ByteDance plans to launch service next month in emerging markets — India, Indonesia and Brazil. According to forecasts, the cost of the subscription will amount to less than $10 a month, which is cheaper than similar offerings of Spotify or Apple Music.
