Earlier in the year at CES 2019 LG showed the 88-inch 8K OLED TV. Now started its global sales. Countries of the “first wave” were Australia, Germany, France, UK and USA. Later the novelty will appear in other States.
The TV is striking not only for technical performance but also cost. The product supports HDMI 2.1, the Protocol Apple AirPlay 2 and the platform HomeKit. The resolution is 7680 × 4320 pixels, four times higher than the 4K TV and 16 times more than the model with Full HD resolution.
As promised, that in some markets the TV will come with voice assistants Assistant Google or Amazon’s Alexa. It is noteworthy that the novelty doesn’t have speakers. Instead she used a Crystal Sound. The sound is generated using OLED panels.
Yet using the resolution 8K TVs remains exotic and will be such a long time. Modern data communication protocols although and provide the desired bandwidth, however, the small amount of content and the high cost of the devices is unlikely to make them mastimovie in the short term.
