The startup team, NUVIA, founded by a former Apple employee, said that it intends to compete with Intel and AMD on the market of processors for data centers.
The developers claim that preparing a revolutionary processor. Interestingly, in the startup team, in addition to ex-Apple employee, includes a former lead architect SoC and a former system architect at Google. They want to use their skills in developing mobile chips to create server solutions.
NUVIA promises multiple increase of productivity and improvement of other characteristics of the processor, as a result, it will consume less energy. The project was called Phoenix. For its implementation the team has already received the necessary money. This will allow a startup to hire hundreds of developers. When will be ready the new processors, is unclear.
