OLED displays iPhone XS and XS Max have on eyes much less negative impact than the IPS panel used by the manufacturer in models of previous generations. This conclusion was made by scientists at Taiwan University Tsinhua, comparing the Apple of different years of release and assessing their impact on vision. This study demonstrates that intolerance to organic matrices, which allegedly suffer from some users, has no scientific basis.
The experiment conducted in the study showed that the iPhone XS Max offers 20% greater maximum permissible exposure (MPE) than the iPhone 7. This indicator is measured in seconds and shows the time required for retinitis in the process of using the display. For example, the display of the iPhone XS Max causes fatigue only through continuous 346 seconds looking at the image while turning away from the iPhone 7 subjects wanted after 288 seconds.

In addition, the displays of the iPhone XS and XS Max emit a quarter less blue light than the iPhone 7, which affects circadian rhythms and cause insomnia. The superiority of the new models may be due to the fact Apple started a special way to configure their color temperature, so they emit more yellow light than blue. It is therefore possible that incorrect color some iPhone XS is the result of “healing” calibration.
Scientifically proven that blue light emitted by computer screens and smartphones, inhibits the production of the hormone melatonin, which facilitates sleep. Exposure to blue light on the body, especially noticeable when using a smartphone or tablet in the dark just before going to sleep, because it does not allow you to fall asleep, forcing some time tossing and turning in bed.
