The Russian government has supported a bill to create an Autonomous Russian Internet, according to “Kommersant”. The government requested revision of the bill, particularly clarification of possible threats to the security and integrity of the global Internet in Russia.

Deputies examined a bill to create the Autonomous Internet in Russia and in General supported him. The government outlined a few things in the bill need to be refined. It will work even in case if Russia will disconnect from the global Internet, for example, because of Western sanctions. Earlier, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on information policy, information technologies and communications Leonid Levin saidthat such a risk actually exists.
