Expenses of Russians on pizza for the year increased by 19%. This contributed to low cost, and aggressive promotion.

Consumers most often order this dish in small pizzerias with a limited number of seats. Thus, in the first quarter of 2017 such establishments visited 9.8% of Russians, over the same period, 2018 — 11%, in January—March of 2019 — there are 15,2%, according to “Kommersant”, citing NPD Group.

From April 2018 to March 2019 the pizza segment grew faster than, for example, burgers or fast food meals of chicken. For the year orders pizza in Moscow and the Moscow region rose by 12%, while the volume of total restaurant market in the capital region — 4%.

In Russian cities, starting in may 2018, opened 1,56 thousands of new pizzerias. So, in Nizhny Novgorod, an increase of 40% in Moscow and 23% in St.-Petersburg — 20%.

Earlier News.ru reported that Apple has released a promotional video called “Outsiders” dedicated to the four employees of the company and their idea of creating a round pizza boxes. The authors of the video used many Apple products and technologies to show how they “help people do their jobs better.” Prototype pizza boxes, which came up with the characters in the movie, actually exists, and it even managed to patent in 2010.
