Many breathed a sigh of relief.

Apple has launched a new programme to repair some legacy devices to the official service centers of the company. The ability to fix old products in the framework of the Repair of Vintage Apple Products Pilot will be available only with the necessary components.

In the list of legacy products that can be repaired officially appear on the iPhone 5, and two versions of the MacBook Air mid 2012 and iMac mid 2011. A complete list of devices includes:

  • iPhone 5 (GSM/CDMA);
  • MacBook Air with a screen diagonal of 11 and 12 inch, released in mid 2012;
  • 21 – and 27.5-inch iMac, announced in mid-2011 (US and Turkey).

In the future, the list of devices will be expanded. By 30 November 2018 program Repair Vintage Apple Products Pilot will be joined by the iPhone 4S and the 15-inch MacBook Pro mid-2012.
