Production of the new iPhone at factories in India officially began in August. The decision on the transfer of production capacity in the country Apple has taken largely in order to avoid the negative impact of the trade war between the US and China. Because of this, the production line of Foxconn India will be able to create only 1 million units per year. This is only enough to cover the demand in the Indian market.

Apple hoped that the plants in India will be able to satisfy demand in the global market. To do this, Foxconn tried to negotiate with the Indian government on preferential tariffs on exports. But since the beginning of negotiations six months have passed, and authorities still have not granted the requests to Apple.
