According to Bloomberg, the Department of justice investigation will involve issues that differ from those studies by the Federal trade Commission. The simultaneous investigation against Facebook on the part of two departments is an unusual practice. The Federal trade Commission launched an investigation against the American company after signing in may of an agreement with the U.S. Department of justice about the division of jurisdiction over the four largest technology companies. “In accordance with this transaction, the Federal trade Commission has jurisdiction over Facebook and Amazon.com Inc. and the antitrust division of the Department of justice took Google Inc. and Apple Inc,” writes Bloomberg. However, according to the source Agency, the agreement was revised, as the attorney General of the United States wanted to oversight of Facebook. In late July, the U.S. Department of justice start an antitrust investigation against the largest online platforms, it was reported on the Agency’s website.
