The new MacBook Air will be much more powerful than its predecessor. All thanks to the Intel Kaby Lake, reports MacRumors.
Initially, the new MacBook Air, the company wanted to use a 10-nm Intel processors Cannon Lake. But due to the fact that they will only be ready by the end of 2019, Apple decided to focus on 14-nanometer Intel Kaby Lake.
Chips Kaby Lake Refresh for almost a year. In the second half of 2018 should go Intel, Whiskey Lake. But due to the fact that, according to rumors, production of the new MacBook Air will begin in the summer, Apple had to abandon these processors.
A line of Kaby Lake Refresh includes a Quad-Core Core i5 and Core i7 basic frequency of 1.6 GHz and 1.9 GHz respectively. Turbo Boost Core i5 overclocks to 3.4 GHz and Core i7 up to 4.2 GHz. Both processors are equipped with Intel graphics UHD Graphics 620 and can support up to 32 GB of RAM.
With these processors, the new MacBook will be faster than current models with chips of 2015. It will also be more powerful than the 12-inch MacBook, which installed energy-efficient processor without active cooling.
