The US President Donald trump has threatened to respond to France on the “stupidity” of the French leader of Emmanuel Macron on the introduction of a tax on the American digital giants.
Trump has hinted in his Twitter account that the response by the US will affect French wine.
“France has just introduced digital tax for the great American technology companies. If someone searches for them, the tax, it should be about their country, the United States. We will soon announce a substantial response to the stupidity of Macron”, — he wrote.
France just put a digital tax on our great American technology companies. If anybody who taxes them, it should be their home Country, the USA. Earlier, the White house has begun to explore France’s decision to change the law to tax us companies and to consider possible retaliatory measures from Washington.
American companies Apple and Google faced the need to pay taxes in the EU. And in January of this year, the Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz announced plans to tax Internet giants, including Google, Amazon, Facebook and Alibaba.
