MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. Classic sonatas by Beethoven, Grieg and Schubert will be performed by Dmitry Sitkovetsky and Lukas geniušas, who decided to repeat the legendary Duo of Fritz Kreisler and Sergei Rachmaninoff, having recorded an album together. This was announced on Thursday TASS in the press service of the record company “Melody”.
“Kreisler Rachmaninoff — the greatest musicians of the twentieth century — were close friends and played a lot together, but only three times they met in the Studio for ensemble recordings of major works”, — told the Agency interlocutor. We are talking about the eighth violin Sonata, Beethoven’s third violin Sonata of Grieg and Big Duo (Sonata) for violin and piano Schubert. These same works in his performance and decided to present the new album and two of the famous musician of XXI century violinist Sitkovetsky and pianist Geniušas.
“Their repetition of the legendary Duo they confirm the continuity of the Russian tradition of musical performing arts”, — said the Agency interlocutor.
He added that both musicians successfully released CDs on major labels, receiving high praise from critics, but as an ensemble they first met for this project. “That’s why in the new album artists try to demonstrate harmonious unity of the ensemble, the combination of the bright artistic temperament and restrained nobility inherent in the true academic style”, — noted in press service.
As expected, the new album, “homage to Fritz Kreisler, and Sergei Rachmaninoff” will be published on CD-ROM, and will be available in digital form on the platforms of iTunes, Apple’s Music and other.
